The Meta-Governance Working Group supports DAO governance initiatives and treasury management
The Meta-Governance Working Group is responsible for providing governance oversight and supporting the management and operation of working groups through DAO tooling and governance initiatives as well as treasury management for the DAO.
Meta-Governance WG Stewards
For the 2024 Term, the elected Stewards of the Meta-Governance Working Group are:
- 5pence.ethΒ (@5pence_eth)Β Lead Steward
- avsa.eth (@avsa)
- estmcmxci.eth (@estmcmxci)
Meetings
There are weekly MetaGov WG meetings and everyone is welcome.
To view the agenda and meeting notes for each MetaGov weekly meeting, visit this post on the Governance Forum, which is updated weekly.
If you would like to add an item to the agenda, you can reach out to the Lead Steward.
Meta-Governance WG Funds
The Meta-Governance WG is funded at the start of each term. The funding process is set out in Rule 10 of the Working Group Rules. A funding request is first passed as a Social Proposal on its own, then as a Collective Executable Proposal, with the other WG funding requests.
Funding requests approved in an Executable Proposal are paid out from the DAO treasury (wallet.ensdao.eth) to the MetaGov WG multisig. Based on the approved funding requests, stewards allocate funding towards specific initiatives.
MetaGov stewards are empowered to distribute funds as they see fit, in pursuit of the purpose of their working group, pursuant to Rule 10.5 of the Working Group Rules. This means stewards may reallocate funds previously earmarked for another purpose in a funding request, to the extent it doesnβt conflict with any rules of the DAO or the Constitution.
MetaGovernance WG Multisig
The MetaGov WG multisig has four signers: the three stewards elected for the term plus the Secretary, who is appointed by a majority of stewards each term.
In order for a transaction to be executed, 3 of 4 signers must approve the transaction.
Funding Requests
If you are seeking funding from the MetaGovernance WG, you are encouraged to attend a weekly Meta-Governance WG meeting and/or reach out to a Meta-Governance WG steward.
